Yelle - “Who’s That Girl” (Robyn cover)

    Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Ummmm yes…Yelle is back! Nice to finally hear something from new from my favorite Parissienne. Commissioned by iTunes and their new Foreign Exchange series (wonder if Phonte and Nicolay have anything to say about that?), the song is a cover of Swedish pop sensation Robyn’s “Who’s That Girl”. As always something good to dance to…check it below.

Santigold’s “Anne” remixed by King Britt

    Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Considering “June Gloom” is in full effect here in LA, this moody King Britt remix of Santigold’s “Anne” is only appropriate.

    Cerebral Vortex + Kissey Asplund

    Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

It has been awhile since I’ve posted anything from Cerebral Vortex, but any collabo between the afore mentioned and the wonderful Kissey Asplund is always right by me. I know “Hey Cat” has been around for a couple years but I have never heard this version of it….enjoy!

    Caural - Sugar Cane Girlfriend

    Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

You can give me a mad late pass on this one…been meaning to post this for some time but as usual, my mind ran off in another direction. I fell in love with this track by an artist named Caural,

    BK ARTIST ALERT: Michna

    Friday, March 20th, 2009

I love finding Brooklyn artists I haven’t heard of…just makes my day. I can’t really get a handle on Michna though, I mean his tracks have you traversing the musical map in ever which direction possible, trip-hop, electro, hip-hop, dance, he’s got it covered. Not that I’m complaining at all…I’m always down for an adventure.

    ARTIST ALERT: Coltrane Motion

    Thursday, March 5th, 2009

I love when good music just falls into my inbox. Such was the case with the Chicago based duo Coltrane Motion. Take Matt & Kim, mix in a little Silversun Pickups,

    David Sugar “Memory Store”

    Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

I forgot all about this David Sugar track, but I stumbled upon it in my library this morning. A smooth track with a slight funk/reggae bounce to it, “Memory Store”

NEW BAND: We Are Enfant Terrible

    Friday, February 6th, 2009

With songs chock-full of blips and bleeps, their sound is a kin to an über creative child with ADD, that is unable to put down their Game Boy

    Who is Miike Snow?

    Thursday, January 15th, 2009

So Miike Snow is being remixed by the likes of Treasure Fingers and Crookers (yeah, those guys responsible for the remix of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N Night”), but you can’t seem to find any info on him/them. There is not much to go on when the Myspace page consists solely of the ambiguous [...]
