Obi Best tonight at Union Pool

Being the big fan of The Bird and the Bee that I am, it wasn’t very hard to fall in love with Obi Best. After all, the brain behind the project is Alex Lilly, sometime back-up singer for the afore mentioned. Their debut album Capades, boasts sweet, infectious and ethereal pop songs, while embracing a hint of the weird. It’s like being at a carnival and suddenly finding yourself wondering into the depths behind the happy and inviting facade. Once you take a closer look, you realize things are a lot more interesting behind the whimsical front that first attracted you. I don’t know about you, but don’t you like a little bit of a surprise?
