Anya Marina: Slow & Steady Seduction, Phase II
By Lizelle Jackson | January 30, 2009

So Spinner.com has this awesome thing called the Full CD Listening Party. Basically, you get to listen to new releases for free. Honestly, it’s awesome, you have the opportunity to expose yourself to a lot of music that you might have missed out on normally. Only downside….the albums don’t seem to stay up for that long.
None the less, I can’t really complain, because that is were I happened to run into Anya Marina’s sophomore album, Slow & Steady Seduction, Phase II. You might remember her from “Grey’s Anatomy” fame, thanks to Alexandra Patsavas at Chop Shop Records. It’s a little too cutesy at times, but overall I’d say it’s a pretty enjoyable listen. Plus, she has a cover of Antonio Carlos Jobim’s “Aquas de Marco”, and you know how I can’t resist Bossa Nova.
