Sam Sparro
By Lizelle Jackson | January 31, 2008

I quickly dismissed Sam Sparro’s “Black & Gold” the first time I heard the track, as I tend to do when a song has a long intro. However, once I stumbled upon the track sometime later and took a good listen to it, I was hooked. Boasting sexy R&B like vocals over a synth pop sound a kin to that of 80’s group Soft Cell, it’s just one of those songs that progressively manages to have you in a full out dance by the time it is over. With the unstoppable wave of acts brandishing colorful clothes, wearing Ray-Bans and yearning for that pair of Marty McFly sneakers, it appears Sam should have no problem finding listeners.
“Black & Gold” to be released on March 31st in the UK.

’cause if you’re not really here
then the stars don’t even matter
now i’m filled to the top with fear
but it’s all just a bunch of matter
’cause if you’re not really here
then i don’t want to be either
i wanna be next to you
black and gold
black and gold
black and gold

Yeh, i remember hearing a snippet of this tune on the advert for the Skins tv show’s “Skinscast” and it was awesome.
After findin the tune (hopin tht it was instrumental) i was a bit annoyed as the music’s class but his singing through it’s not my style.. i really really want an instrumental version of this but outwith that, nice tune.
might be a one hit wonder tha, in my opinion.
