Cotton Jones “Paranoid Cocoon”

By Lizelle Jackson | February 3, 2009

I’ll admit I know next to nothing about the group Cotton Jones, but after taking a listen to their debut album, Paranoid Cocoon, I find myself wanting more. A group compromised of Michael Nau and Whitney McGraw, two ex-members of Page France (who I must take a listen to), present us with a pretty emotional album, but in that tortured soul kind of way, which usually always makes for a great listen. There is a little for everyone, jumping genres from indie to country to bluesy gospel-folk, even a little bit of psychedelic, which can be found on my favorite, “Gotta Cheer Up”. Give it a serious listen…I guarantee it will catch on.
