I’m glad to see that even after being nominated for a Grammy, Emily King is still performing at the locals spots she started out at. It was about 2 years ago when a friend of mine who had been interning at J Records first let me listen to her album. I was immediatley hooked, unfortunately the realease date kept getting pushed back, so it would be another year and a half before I could actually buy the album. So in the mean time, I was able to check her out doing acoustic sets at The Bitter End, or even down the street from my apartment in Brooklyn at Bushbaby. I’ve probably seen her perform about 4 or 5 times and I still prefer her acoustic sets. So if your in NYC and are in the mood for a great singer-songwriter, make sure to check her out this weekend….oh, and I would definitely do the Solomon’s Porch show for a more intimate setting.

    Upcoming NY shows:

Rockwood Music Hall NYC, NY March 14th
Solomon’s Porch Brooklyn, NY March 15th
Rockwood Music Hall NYC, NY March 28th
