Martina Topley-Bird at the Les Creatives Festival
By Lizelle Jackson | October 8, 2008
Time permitting, I would love to take the hour long trip to Geneva to check out Martina Topley-Bird at the Les Creatives Festival in November. Topley-Bird first crashed onto the music scene in 1995 on Tricky’s “Maxinquaye”, creating quite a stir amongst the then pop-conservatives. On her sophomore album “The Blue God”, released in July, Topley-Bird enlisted the talents of much sought after producer Danger Mouse, which ensures she will keep the edgy and contemporary sound that first found her success. Not that she needs it. An already established British artist, Topley-Bird has been keeping busy with guest appearances with the likes of the Gorillaz and DIPLO.
Oh….and check out the Van She remix of her song “Poison” as well….
