The Cell Theory
By Lizelle Jackson | October 29, 2008
Ok, this post might be a little biased considering I do have a slight (ok, maybe huge) crush on Taylor McFerrin, however it doesn’t make his side project, The Cell Theory any less reputable. I got to catch them over the summer in Prospect Park and it was awesome. Having live drums and an amazing upright base player accompanying Taylor’s incredible beat boxing was just icing on the cupcake. I don’t know why it took me so long to check them out, but I’m really digging their song “Honestly Love” right now, so be sure to check in on their myspace. Oh, and a little side note, I just read that Taylor and TK Wonder are going to be opening for Slum Village (one of my all time faves!) over at Southpaw in Park Slope on Nov. 11th.
Just because I like him….

I need to pick this up! I saw Taylor and TK Wonder in DC a few weeks ago and it was pretty insane. Taylor was beat boxing over beats and TK was rapping. Crazy! I think both of them are off to good things in 2009!
