If your a fan of Beirut, you might want to check the debut album from Fanfarlo. While not quite as Baltic as Beirut, there are some of the same elements at work, such as the extensive use of the trumpet and ukulele. Regardless, the album is being sold for only $1 on their website until the 4th of July, so you better grab it now because after that, it won’t be available until September. After listening to it all weekend, I highly recommend it.
OK, so it’s a couple weeks old. I hadn’t been to Kissey‘s site for awhile, but was happy to find this nice little Christmas present that she had gifted to all her fans. HAHA, I like the word gifted, it makes me feel sophisticated when I say it . Oh well, enjoy “Holiday”, you can pick it up here! By the way, production was done by a dude named Hollywood Raff.
Looks like your not the only one with racing stripes Kansky!
I was completely dumbfounded when I showed up to work at my restaurant Wednesday night to find that Sasha Dobson was going to be performing. Ms. Dobson first caught my attention almost two years ago with her single “Without You”, a sultry mix of folk rock and bossa nova. It’s just a shame that her beautiful music fell on deaf ears at a bar full of roudy wall street guys chugging beers and eating BBQ. If you in NY though, come swing by Hill Country every Wednesday this month to check her out for free, it’s well worth it.
Today has been a little strange…I went to a museum in Neuchatel, and I saw the little Jaquet-Droz robot/dolls from the 1700’s. They were really creepy, but it was exciting to see what they could do. They could draw, write notes, and even play the piano.
I guess that is why I’m posting the new single by The Little Ones today, because ordinary things done by little ones can be pretty cool.
